Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we come closer to the end of the school year, you may notice that your children are particularly tired - please remember that this has bee# Your title here…n our first complete school year in quite some time - in fact it will be the first complete face to face school year ever for our children in 1st Class! We have quite a bit of news to share with you for the end of this year - and for the coming school year.

School Events

School Tour - We are delighted to be returning to Kilbrittain’s Secret Garden again this year - please ensure you have permission slips and tour money returned to Ursula ASAP please.

Recent Activities - As you know we have been busy outdoors lately - with Surfing, Zumba & Tennis. A special thank you to the Parent Association whose continued support and fund raising ensure that these much loved activities are enjoyed by all.

Active Schools: Our Active Schools Committee & Mr. Murray have ensured that we have been kept on our toes and gotten in our extra steps this year. Bike day was great fun - and we are looking forward to all of the activities this week to celebrate Active Schools Week.

Graduation & Sports Night: Our Graduation & Sports Night is back this year on June 21st @ 6pm - with sports races starting as soon as possible on the night.

6th Class - Our wonderful Sixth Class are preparing for their big move. We’ll be sad to see them leave but excited for them to start secondary school - as it’s a challenge that they are more than ready for. We are looking forward to celebrating them and their parents on the night.

Car Parking: Please be aware that the lane adjacent to the school is in constant use. When collecting or dropping off - please do not block the lane. You are most welcome to use the school car park.

Classes Teachers, Book Lists, 2022/23 Calendar & End of Year Report Cards The above-mentioned are being prepared and will be posted out today. The website will also be updated shortly with next year’s calendar & booklists.

The Year Ahead

Although class lists will be arriving in your postbox shortly - I’d like to inform you that there will be some class allocation changes - and there will be some changes to classroom configurations; due to increasing numbers in the Junior Room. Please note that there has been careful consideration given to these changes to ensure the best possible configuration - and most even distribution of numbers across the rooms.

Please note that there will be 2 teachers job sharing in 5th & 6th Class - We will explain this fully to the children and have a Q&A with them, to ensure that they are fully familiar with how it will work in September.

Mr. Murray has also graciously agreed to act as Principal - while I go on maternity leave.

Junior Room: Junior Infants, Senior Infants & 1st Class: Class Teacher to be appointed

Middle Room: 2nd Class, 3rd Class & 4th Class: Ms. McGrath (Acting Deputy Principal)

Senior Room: 5th Class & 6th Class: Ms. Byrne & Ms. O’Donovan (Job Sharing)

SEN: Mr. Murray (Acting Principal)

SEN Part- time position: Teacher to be appointed

School Term Costs.

Any outstanding payments should be forwarded to the office or paid online to the school bank account as soon as possible please so school accounts can be closed for the 2021/2022 school year.

Summer Closing

Just a quick reminder; School will close @ 12pm on Thursday 23th June.

Congratulations

I would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to Aaron on celebrating his First Holy Communion this term and to Ms White for the support she provided during his sacrament preparation. Another celebration to note is that of Ms.McGraths nuptials over the Easter Break. We wish her and her husband every joy & happiness for their future life.

RNLI

The school recently hosted a visit from the RNLI in Courtmacsherry and we would like to thank the parents for their contribution to such a worthy cause.

Water

Thank you for your patience over the previous water issues which the school recently encountered. We are relieved to say they are currently resolved.

School Access

The Board of Management would like to remind parents & wider community that there is no access to the school grounds outside of school hours.

I would like to thank all parents for your help and cooperation during the year. Your support and encouragement never goes unnoticed. I would also like to acknowledge the support and hard work of the Parents Association - especially with their help in promoting the open day & organising the table quiz.
