Soccer Tournament for the Boys 26th of Feb

We had a fab day out with the boys in Ballincollig. The day started off very wet but the lads were never going to let a few raindrops dampen their spirits. They never gave up and showed magnificent resilience & fight. Lock in!!

We got off to a slow start. We’re a bit like Italy at World Cups but we hunkered down and bounced back winning the last two games in the group. Charlie M was like Messi with his mazy runs and boyyy ….can he finish under pressure. Drew came alive in game 3 and 4 and showed everyone what he’s made of. He got an amazing hat-trick in the last game, very like Troy Parrott. He dinked the keeper and was cool as a cucumber. Des played his heart out and scored a vital goal to beat Dripsey NS 2-1 in game 3. Aaron and Bill were heroic in defense and made some vital blocks and tackled everything. Eli was unfortunately injured but cheered the lads on from the sideline, waving the umbrella and keeping spirits high. Congrats to the winners and we wish them the very best in Musgrave Park. The boys were gracious in defeat and shook hands with their opponent and showed great sportsmanship. They were also very respectful winners too and that says it all.

We are proud of you all. Thank you parents, for driving & cheering us on.
