Dear Parents

Covid-19.

The Health and wellbeing of our students & staff is paramount. We are adhering to all advice published by the HSE. There is hand sanitiser by the front door and we ask all visitors to the school to use it. Students are reminded to wash hands regularly.

School Closures – Spring Term:

Please note the school will be closed for

  • St Patrick’s Weekend - Monday 16th March 2020 & Tuesday 17th March 2020
  • Easter Holidays at 12pm Friday 03rd April 2020 to Friday 17th April 2020 (inclusive)
  • Primary Language Curriculum Training at 12pm on Friday 27th March 2020
Confirmation:

Fr Cremin officiated a Ceremony of Light Mass for our Confirmation class last Thursday. Special thanks to Mr Murray & the choir who provided beautiful music. Our Confirmation children are looking forward to their Confirmation Ceremony which will take place on Monday the 30th of March at 10.30am in Kilbrittain Parish Church. We are very proud of Layla, Cooper, Loughlin & Ava and we look forward to celebrating their special day with them.

Garden Workshops:

Special thanks to Tara delas Casas who will commence with our annual gardening programme on Friday 13th March in the Junior Room. This will continue over the next 9 weeks with each classroom having 3 gardening sessions.

Evening Echo - Kidz Zone

As per our email last week, we were delighted to welcome a photographer from the Evening Echo to the school last week. We hope to feature in the Kidz Zone supplement next week. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate & showcase our school, students & staff. Please keep an eye out!

Table tennis:

Table Tennis for Middle and Senior Rooms has now finished with Alan Hurley. Our senior classes participated in the South Coast Table Tennis competition in Sáile, Kinsale on Feb 13th. A great day out was had by all.

City Sports Run-offs:

We intend to do our annual run-offs for Cork City Sports on Wednesday 18th March, weather permitting. Please ensure the children wear suitable gear for running.

Soccer

Our Senior Boys represented the school at a soccer tournament in Clonakilty last Friday. The boys played extremely well and we are proud to report that they came 3rd overall. A great achievement.

School Tour

The school tour is being held in Cuskinny Court, Cobh, Co.Cork on Tuesday 23rd June 2020. The cost including bus will be €29 per child. Staged Payment can be made to the office any time over the next few weeks. Closing date for receipt of full / final payment is Monday 08th June 2020. More details to follow.

Term Costs:

Please note for those of you who have not yet paid their Winter and/or Spring term costs those costs of €45 per term are now due. It would be much appreciated if payment could be made as soon as possible.
