The Senior Room participated in the schools recent Art Project with the artist Sarah O'Brien.
The Project was titled "Drawing Walks".
The walks took the children to Howe Strand. En route they stopped and engaged in experimental drawing techniques. Drawing with their eyes closed, drawing with their non dominant hand and were asked to draw what they heard.
Each group varied depending on their age and ability.
When at Howe Strand the children were encouraged to explore and collect and assemble their own objects to draw and begin to consider their objects for the material value and textures.
The workshops touched on the areas such as audio sensory, tactile, fine motor, gross motor and cultivated the imagination and language.
